Discovery Community Care (DCC) has a vision to walk alongside people in the local community so that they can experience belonging, express their gifts and effect change in their lives and their community.
To fulfil this vision, DCC relocated to its new premises in Mount Evelyn in 2023, which has a new, open-plan drop in space to enable more intentional relationships to form; where people can connect with others throughout the week and participate in shared interests and be encouraged to support one another to overcome long-term challenges they may be experiencing. This will enable DCC to further meet the increasing needs of those experiencing food insecurity and social isolation in the Yarra Valley.
In the face of loneliness epidemics, DCC wants to see the opposite, that is unified and connected communities, where right relationships thrive and people are equipped to contribute to their community.
Seeking Transformation
When people are enabled to participate and contribute to something that is bigger than themselves, with others that they trust, it can enable people to find meaning and purpose. Our heart at DCC is that people can come regularly to spaces with others and feel like they can feel accepted and welcomed.
