Community meals:
DCC operates a daytime community meal at the DCC House in Mount Evelyn every Wednesday, along with an evening community meal in Lilydale every Thursday called Foodstop, which has traditionally been hosted for people experiencing homelessness in the region. We want everyone to feel welcome to join either of these meals, so please feel free to drop by.
Shared interests:
The DCC House has been designed as a drop in space, inclusive of a large dining area, as well as a purpose-built, communal cooking bench for up to fourteen participants for the facilitation of cooking classes.
Community Support currently runs at the DCC House on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but we want everyone to feel welcome to drop into the house for a cup of tea or a chat with our friendly volunteers or with other participants facing similar life circumstances. There is also an accessible toilet and shower, along with free washer and dryer laundry facilities which you are welcome to use if needed.
Each week, a groups of participants and volunteers gather at the Pumpkin Patch community garden to support the growth of seasonal fruit and vegetables together as a team. All are welcome to join if they feel able.
Participants have also been running popular art classes and rug-making classes, which all are welcome to join for free. Please contact us on the above number if you would like to reserve your place on the next available class.
